Board cost? What would you say they are?

..like if you were explaining to an alien or just someone who'd never played fruits before?
When I first started a few year ago I'd have expected to get a board for roughly 3/4 quid or 6/7 if it was 'playing up' lol

Tonight I went on a Big Box and it cost me £17 for a f**king board.  Angry £17!!
That board offered me £4 before killing me.
Then another £7 for next board which offered me £3 before killing me.
Put another fiver in "board upgrade" etc...Jesus christ.
Had no more cash on me and had to go and catch my train. I told the lads near me - one of whom was gingerly trying nearby Corn - that a quid or so would get them something but they seemed to think that the fact I'd just lost thirty quid in it means it should be avoided!

Anyway, I feel like 7-13 quid is a modern day board cost. Which is shite imo. I'd be better off putting it on football accas - at least the 'game' would last longer

Yeah they're a bit expensive for boards. Seals, upgrade, seals, upgrade etc. All swings and roundabouts though, sounds like yours had probably paid a £30ish offer no doubt.

To be fair, I have known £25 jackers to cost £15+ for a board. Take Tomb Raider as a shining example.

Alien on £70 jackers on the other hand, MonkeyKing and I put £40 into it and not a sniff. Didn't even get a trail bonus.

If you saw a player do an alien you'd see why

The high board costs aren't really anything new.

The difference is how a days it only costs £3 to have red reels and be 1 away from filling whatever trail(s) the machine has. So to then be charged £15 for the board feels like outright theft. Whereas in the past there was more of a feeling you were getting unlucky over lack of hold agains or whatever.

I'm partially responsible for that.

I filled in a barcrest survey about 10 years ago and said thatI thought red features were an indication of the machine being 'happy'
