Saving for your old age! Fuck that!!!
#1
Just found out that because my dad has about 40k in savings the government are now going to take the lot off him to pay for his care. He has MSA which is a very aggressive form of parkinsons and probably it is time that he goes into a home. There is apparently a threshold of 24k , over that!? Ta vary much for working all your life , paying your taxes , being prudent and sensible but we are having that!!!!!!!!

Its fucking bullshit! Will i be saving anything for my old age!? No! Its going on cocaine and hookers my friends!! And i shall be telling my children exactly the same. Dont fucking bother , spunk it before you get ill and frail and then and only then will the system take care of you. Fucking stinks!!!

Yes it does stink mate and the truth is NO LIVES MATTER to the government they are a for profit organisation and will do whatever they can to take your money away from you,

you work all your life and have to pay them a portion of your salary every payday, we pay council tax which helps build roads and infrastructure
yet we still have to pay tax on our vehicles for the privilege of driving on the roads we paid to build and now they even want to take people's life savings and inheritance away and basically want us to pay for dying
Believe nothing without facts or your own research and trust nobody but yourself,  but most of all be open minded and kind to everyone and everything...

If you have nothing they have to look after you. If you have money they take it.

So basically yeah, spend it on tits and drugs or give it to your kids well in advance of dying!

He was going to divvy up between his grandchildren. 10 of them altoghether. Apparently he cant even do that now because if you do it knowing you have to go into care within 6 months its called deliberetly getting rid of your assets. Youve all been warned. Blow it or give it Way before the time comes

Fuck it that does it. If such a thing is true, I WILL be saving money... But it will go towards my retirement in THIS country, not the UK.

Tis true yeah, We had it with the Ex's Nan who had to go into care, They ringfence a certain amount (Think it was like 12K maybe more) then they can have the rest to pay for the care, in this case the bulk was tied up in the value of the house.

So stash all your pound coins and notes under the bed then by the sounds of it!

Robbing cunts. My mate at work has just had his mum moved to a home. £1100 a week and all her 40k savings is being used for that.

Good old England

I would seriously put the lot into bitcoin, good luck trying to trace it or find it, if anyone noseys around he could say he spent it in casinos or whatever. No paper trail and the govt can't take it away.

Yeah, and all these ads about paying for your funeral etc....they get on my tits too! Don't want to give my money to some company to pay for what happens after my life ends. Either I pay out of my own savings or I use my money while I'm alive and get other people to pay for my funeral when I don't need the money anymore

To all the youngsters...

Put a quid in a jar every time you have sex before you get married.
Then take one out every time you have sex after getting married.
When you die there will be plenty in your jar to pay for the funeral.

Ok. Ive had time to calm down and think about it all. Looked into it a bit , seen other opinions. The money has to come from somewhere. Care is very expensive. I accept that. Start by doing away with the 11 billion quid we give in foreign aid for a fucking start! But still from where im standing its still black and white to me. Blow your money , never pay into the system , be a benefit scrounging cunt and dont worry you'll be taken care of. Save , be sensible etc etc and it gets taken away!!!!!???

The solution to this unfairness? From working age you are taxed a specific amount to pay for your care in old age shouod you need it. For this you recieve the best possible. Dont  and be one of them people you see off benefit britain , dont contribute etc , then thats your choice , you end up in some piss smelling barely funded home with the bare minimum. Fair enough!!??

Can the £40k be moved to another person/account, or will the gov't spot that?

What happens if you dad goes all-in on red on the roulette wheel and loses? Sour grapes for Maggie May lol

Or last resort - to emigrate. Your dad will have to fork out the £40k to another healthcare system regardless, but it'll be a good way of trolling our gov't.

If you have money when it gets to care required stage of life, what really are you going to need the money for?

The 24k is really quite generous imo for benefit entitlement, during the working life its only 6k before it tapers I believe.

Provision for age is one thing, if you want to accumulate wealth to pass on it certainly needs planning... or a quick death.

I try to encourage my parents to spend their accumulated wealth rather than try hang on to it just because they have spent a life time trying to get to that posistion.

The rules are set out and don't change all that much do they?

As ive said , If you go into care within 6 months and its found that you have deliberatly moved assets to avoid paying for your care...... you cant do it and they can take steps to recover the money.

Thats classed as deprivation of asset.

7 years is the time limit, previous to that is not looked at.

Only way round is to have non traceable wealth, very hard for lots of people to get their head around, due to mainly only associating wealth with a number in a bank account.

Not the point at all russ!! Im pissed off about the unfairness of it all. So what if he doesnt need the money! You go on to say you encourage your folks to spunk it all. Thats what im saying. Get rid , enjoy before the government takes it all off you.

That's a pity then, but I still disagree on principle. The £40k was earnt by the father who has worked for it and paid his taxes where taxes were due.

Let's take dementia for example. You'll be looked after on a psychiatric ward and have a care plan put into place. I don't see why it has to be different with Parkinson's which is also a degenerative disease.
