Average raise?

It seems there are a few people on here that make money in pubs but it feels like pissing into the wind to me.

Forcing a £15 machine like Homer's Meltdown that would pay its jackpot then GATW next board and repeat up to three times was probably the golden age of AWPs for me. You can't win 4x the jackpot any more.

Tbh forcusing some of these new ones isnt always a bad idea. Get a 150-200/afters and you could be seeing a small-potentially big profit if caught right (and i mean caught right). instead of a few boards costing the earth for something like a 20 escape deal and a loss. The issue is they are shite to play amd forcusing is a nightmare

Gone are the days of big profits for cheap. Its all about extracting as much value as possible on these new, shite breed of machines. So either taking what you can early on, or a forcus. No middle ground really, as it will always end up being a loss or a lucky break even spawn if you stay on machines too long collecting shit.

Had loads of plus 200 profit on triples, but I must also be honest I ain't ever had a gatw either, sadly this breed of fruit is dying more slowly than a support jade goody page

Honest past 7 days for me (I don't have a job I've gambled/played machines for the past 4 years to pay my way)

Today £438 up (includes £200 down on fruits as everything took the utter piss)
Yesterday £190 up
Sunday £600 up
Saturday £500ish up
Friday £420 up
Thursday £900 down (did absolute brains on a £500 pure gold with £250 silver and £140 bronze)
Wednesday day off
Tuesday £350 up
Monday £70 up

Huge peak at the weekend due to the fact it was bank holiday and payday weekend rolled into one! But you can pretty much half those figures for an average weekend if not more than half.

Oh and I really don't care what anyone thinks of me and what I make

Oh and I also do my fair share of pointless brains on stuff I know I shouldn't be playing say I'm on tilt etc

Every now and again wonder into the bookies and bye bye to my last weeks worth of profits. Not exactly a glamourous life lol

They still pay my bills mate with enough left for hobbies and a social life! 2-4 years ago it was a different story as they were paying all bills AND money was building rapidly in my bank account too. These days my average bank balance rarely changes. A certain mad few weeks in bookies has given us all the safely net for a few more years I guess too

Yeah £600 in for pots bronze, then all back plus another £6-700 (can't remember exactly) for the sliver. Cashed out a ticket for over £300 think I was 1.2k in haha. These things happen

That bookies gave you in a few weeks enough to give you a safety net for a few more years?!!! if you are claiming over 100k from that alone then you did better than anyone else, by a long way.

how did you end up +438 today if you lost 200 on pub fruits?

try 950 for bronze then 700 for silver then 300 for bronze then 700 for GAME OVER and NEVER AGAIN!

Gold pot and a big silver on a pick and mix and a few other bits but lost on the fruits I played. Golden game phoning first board but broke even. £90 down on a red hot despite phoning cheap £50 cob and a £100 cashpot thrown in And decided for some regrettable reason to take on a moo York that decided it wanted £240 for a flash the fucker was broken I swear! One of those sort of days

I didn't make 100k no but made enough to max out my ISA and the rest was stored away in a bond account.

never had it as bad as that on a pure gold but yeah they can do that

At the moment I'm making £0 and losing £0!

Decided to try and jack the lot of them in recently and just sticking to that for now, as I could see myself starting to go back to my old ways which weren't good days ( although I got a nice letter from Mr Wonga recently saying they owe me a £44 refund for one of their loans when I was very stupid in the past! Better than nowt! lolol )

I can make money on pub fruits and was doing so but only after work and at weekends, the trouble was then walking into arcades and bookies and casinos gradually losing the money made plus more! Only lost winnings so not the end of the world but I just thought I can't keep losing £100 a day or whatever!

My brain basically has the addictive personality that gets people into trouble and I can't switch it to another mode basically lolol Especially when lots of pub visits these days just result in the same old Maximums and Betcoms rubbish I was just getting bored of the effort to travel round in my limited time frame and find stuff so I usually just ended up braining out instead!

Not trying to turn this into Gamcare or anything just what I'm doing at the minute!

Oh yeah, I also quit my job because that was starting to piss me off! So my full time career at the minute is...job hunting!

had at least 20 supers today with no ton but one cashpot before mega for a 120 loss!

fruits can provide nice money at times for sure, especially if you are driven to put in hours as i guess you do fenso. they don't make BIG money though, eg in those 4 years you have been playing (some nice tricks been about too in that time) i reckon my house and one small rental property has inreased in value more than every penny you have saved.

Fair play to you for that! I have no interest in buying a house and I have zero chance of even getting a morgage in the meantime anyway. I have no kids and been in enough shit relationships to put me off women for life!

I'm happy with my life, the money I have, my little rented house that I call home, what I do for a living and my group of friends. being happy is all that counts in life doesn't it? Just as I'm sure you're happy in yours mate.

As for the tricks I've had a few and blown the money. Wasn't making that mistake with this one! And yeah I've missed out on few aswel just as I'm sure you have too

You're doing well John. Kicked the bad gambling in for the longest period you probably ever have in your entire life! But you need to leave your bed at some point to find a job haha

i'm not too happy, divorce on the cards amongst other troubles and having a few quid in the bank (by no means a fortune) doesn't make life a bowl of cherries! losing £200 in a fruit over 3 hours is still painful and annoying even if you "can afford it". have a week where you break even or lose and this game can look depressing too! long term i don't think fruits are a good occupation for the mind, or maybe that's just me.

but yes, being happy is what it is all about mate. sounds like you are a bit younger than me and are still learning from what life can chuck at you! reckon you seem pretty content so fair play to you!

of course it is all relative and everyone has ups and downs - you never know what is around the corner, it could be your dream woman or a horrendous illness!

Sorry about the divorce situation. I wish I could afford to get divorced but the bitch wants 75% of my money as a 'fair' settlement for the years I've paid the mortgage so I'm trapped.

I've given up a few times but always gone back because it's about the only fun I have in my life.

I read a book by some American phd called 'Addiction is a choice' which argues eloquently that because the only cure is 'stop doing it' addiction is not a disease. Sure it fucks up the brain but no medicine can help you. Ultimately you can only be 'cured' if you want it.

So good on you for quitting. I just keep play to a minimum because I work in London so almost every pub fruit has been battered by a player and it's too hard to make a profit (hence this thread) and because of my propensity to go on tilt I self excluded myself from all the bookies a few years ago.
