Know i've recently come back but I'm pining for that sun lounger! Just being nosey here  lol  Wondering where all you lot are off on yer hols this year or if you already been  , where?. Reason's for going there? etc.

Your favourite destinations? Why? Does'nt have to be a Tripadvisor Review! lol just a quick note.

People I know swear buy Turkey or Greece but they don't appeal to me at all. America/Asia , too long on a plane! No for me it's either good old Spain or a good Static Caravan by the seaside. Devon or Cornwall. :) :)
Southport Pontins  lolol
lolol How anybody still books an holiday at Pontins ! dontknow.

Oh you i went there last month  lolol i know it's not very good but it's ok for somewhere to get your head down and have a beer and a gamble, we spent most of our time in Southport which i might add is a beautiful little town and didn't spend that much time in Pontins

Southports a short train journey for me, it would be like going holiday down town, going the Pontins

there would be like getting thrown in the local cells for the night singing Fairytale In New York by

HAHA have you ever been there before Steely, if it's just down the road from you, you must have been there
I'm looking around for a week in the sun in September. Gonna give All Inclusive a try for once.

Looking at the canary's or the balearics at the minute

We're going all inclusive to Lanzarote in August. It's so much more expensive but I have no choice being a teacher!

It really annoys me that the prices increase by about 50% in the holidays

PDJ

I don't blame parents for taking their kids out in the final week or so. The fine will still be less than the increased holiday cost. There is so little going on in the final week of the year.
For a moment I thought everybody had done their brains in a fobt and couldn't afford to go this year! lol

You can't beat all inc can you? We went self catering at my mothers apartment and by the time we paid for flights , transfers and spending money we spent about £1300 all told and I know we could of got a week all inc for less than that easy.

A recommendation here for any of you that fancy good old Spain this year. Salou!! very nice family resort and it has got the best theme park in Europe there , Portaventura. Last few times we have been we stop at the Villamarina all inc.  Aimed squarely at the Brits the food for 3 star is excellent and the drinks are superb. Esteralla on tap , good selection of cocktail and the soft drinks for the kiddies are good to. Book direct with the hotel and you get free transfers. Ryanair flights to Reus dirt cheap , transfer 20 mins tops.

Yeah it's toss how it doubles in price in the school holidays. And they wonder why parents take their kids out of school. dontknow
The ex took the kids away just before half term, cost her £600-£700, she looked for half term week same holiday, just over 2K mental!!

I'll look into that place Ed, always fancied going portaventura, although the Mrs has already said I'll be sitting alone on the rollercoasters  :)
I just love Orlando, Florida, the whole theme park/great food/Miller Lite gig. It's my favourite place on the planet and gives me a 2 week long high when I'm there. I feel just on top of the world when I visit-it's my nirvana, don't know why?

Also, Icmeler and Marmaris in Turkey float my boat-great weather, cheap, cool bottled Efes beer, modern, clean with friendly natives and the best snide gear money can buy. What more could you want? I recommend all inclusive in Icmeler's Aqua hotel.

For 3 or 4 days with the lads Benidorm's an absolute scream as long as you don't expect too much. Magaluf is great for that type of thing, too.

Nearly forgot: dying to go to Vegas...

All time high the lira at the moment as well. Great time to be going Turkey.

We used to go Marmaris every year I were getting around 2.20* to the £, its now around 3.30!! and was as high as 3.51 two weeks ago.

Sickk.

I'm not sure we are going this year, I've got 2 seperate weeks booked off in August so it may be a last minute decision.
No where as of yet, as im in saving mode. Getting a tasty payrise in 5 weeks so me and a few of the lads are tempted by Belgium at the end of the year for the euro qualifiers, Bale and Ramsey vs Belgium  lol

Well I took the plunge and booked up here in September, So on your head be it Ed  agro If the Mrs doesn't like it I'll send her to look for you lol

Can't fault the price of it though. £300 each for a weeks All inclusive. 1 Case between us as I travel light anyway. Just gotta sort out getting to the airport and back this end.

PDJ

We're just taking hand luggage. 3 of us, I am hoping that's ok bit for £72 a case on Ryanair, I can buy towels and toiletries out there I reckon and it will be cheaper.
It's scandalous. It's cost us £50, the return ticket was only £51.98  banger
